Here is the other rescoring I did for the film The Animatrix (2003), an anthology of short stories drawn from concepts found in The Matrix. This chapter is called World Record, we follow the sprinter Dan Davis as he battles through injury to eventually, and accidentally, break through the facade of the Matrix. Here I went for a more urban electronic sound, with a good deal of confidence. Drawing on genres such as synthwave, drum & bass, and triphop.
Video is split into 3 parts because of Youtube copyright licensing.
From a technical point of view, this was done by removing the original soundtrack from the audio mix and composing/recording my own from scratch. As such it was a new experience having to mix my new music with already existing dialogue and sound effects (like physical noise).
